gorillas

For Gorillas, I worked closely with the client in the creation of their brand guidelines. We started by refining the main logo + app icon, and then created a design system for this fast brand.

a new monogram

The monogram 'G' is designed in a slanted fashion to convey speed.
It pairs white and red to establish a connection with the main logo, whilst the black background is in line with the UI of the app itself.

A tailored, variable font

When it came to the font design, our goal was to create an urban looking grotesk font-family tailored for Gorillas.

In a thoroughly enjoyable process of collaboration with font designer Erik Sachse, we looked at ways of injecting the contrast of round and sharp edges present in the main logo on some of the characters, to make them more unique, more ownable, more Gorillas.

an open system

For the design system, we wanted to set down some rules that would still allow for exploration. Below are some of the core brand elements that help establishing the brands' look.

Motion is important for a brand that is all about speed. By applying movement to the core elements, we added a layer of playfulness.
